Nice, simple and seasonal. Only problem I noticed is that since the sprite mirrors between left and right, you can't aim directly down, which makes it easier for the flying robots to reach you.

Thanks!!!

Reconsile responds:

Thank you for your support!

Solid demo. Strongest points are the visuals (I'm a sucker for handdrawn stuff) and soundtrack. Kinda feels like Hollow Knight meets Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion. I liked the boss battles and tool selection, but combat with regular enemies felt a little lackluster. I'd definitely like to see more sidequests. Right now it looks like I can't unlock new achievements after I finished a level though.

Thanks so much for the kind words! It took way too long to wrestle with newgrounds' medal system and for some reason it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, and I have no idea how to fix it; sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for playing and I'll do some work on more interesting enemies!

Culturally enriching. I'm still surprised that I was able to make any sense out the dialogue. It was like reading wuthering heights all over again. Merry christmas! (or whatever it's spelled in yorkshire)

Nice simpsons reference btw

Chris responds:

Mazza Claus has officially been compared to classic literature lol

Good first entry. For being a basic quickdraw with simple graphics, it's charming and surprisingly engaging. I could be wrong but it seems that in hardcore mode, clicks sometimes don't register if you aren't clicking on the player character, at least that was my experience starting with level 3 (I read the description and it has probably something to do with firefox).

tikiworkshop responds:

Thanks for the feedback! Ill look into it with ultra-hard and see if theres any issues with it. Its sad that FireFox is dodgy, especially since Im a diehard FF user, but when I retested things on chrome and it was a lot smoother.

Straight out of 2007. There's some weird issue with the buttons to the raygun and soul steal option where it just seems to restart without a kill? Other than that, a nice little throwback game. Congrats on the daily 4th.

CalamityGanon responds:

Thanks! I've actually been aware about the glitch with those two options. They only seem to work half the time, I've been trying to fix it along with one of the secret medals.
Thank you! I was really trying to nail the early Newgrounds feel.

Good game, a nice follow up to the previous title with lots of variety. I especially liked the added difficulty with the city/regional flags. I think I recognized most from the flag games, Maybe some more of those from more countries (UK, Poland, Germany, Australia etc.) if there's another flag guesser in the future?
Been kinda stumped on the daily challenges for a while. Yesterday's 16/71 for the americas definitely looked like belo horizonte, yet the first row had five letters? And today the flag is clearly durango, but there's m instead of n in the answer field. Not sure if it's errors or just skill issue for me,

TeamTrivial responds:

Hello!

Appreciate the feedback & info. You are correct in today's answer and indeed the flag displayed was wrong - this has been fixed. I checked yesterday's answer as well and your guess should've been correct so I'll see what may be going on with the display there.

Regarding future flag games - I'll take your suggestion and see what we could do for another release or update to this game (would probably add them to the static challenges just to make things easier if there would be an update)

Perfectly chilling game for the season. The prompts at the bottom of the screen give off the same vibe as those in 3D monster maze. Only bug I encountered is that your character gets stuck if you pass into a new area while too close to a wall, though I guess that was on me really.

Weird thing to praise in a horror game, but the map and overall town layout stuck out to me? I wasn't expecting the game to have this much of an actual town to explore and it definitely makes you want to keep looking around even after finding your dog. Really makes you FEEL like a british working class lad strolling through the suburbs during the 80s, haunted by the worst monster of all... Maggie Thatcher, milk snatcher.

But really, great game. Just left wondering: what were the blue books about and are they meant to be interacted with?

Chris responds:

Thanks! I really wanted the town to feel realistic in that way rather than just a bunch of buildings dropped on a grid. I see a lot of games put towns in like this and they put a lot of space between the buildings but areas of Britain like this are tight and the houses aren't very big so I tried to replicate that the best I could in this game. I think mundane settings are much more effective for horror.

Also haha those blue books in the woods are porn mags that have been dumped there. The amount of porn that got dumped in the woods near my house I figured it wouldn't be the same if I didn't include it. Originally I was going to have it so you could check them and it'd say what they were but it was a job that just got lost somewhere along the way.

Great job on the costume designs and music. The delivery on the voice lines combined with the mic crackling was sending me sometimes. Not sure if that shows how much my humor has devolved or wheter it's because there's something inherently funny about the scandinavian accent. Probably both actually. Either way, pretty nice stuff. Happy halloween!

Edit: Just found the secret. Truly enlightening. And totally unrelated but I used to think norway was called norwegia in english because of the word norwegian. I still think about that

Nebulate responds:

Holy shit thank you! Yeah the assets like the costumes were reely fun to make. Also thx for liking my voicework (whether it being intentionaly funny or not).

aapiarts responds:

I blame Neb for being so Norway

Creeperforce24 responds:

Glad you liked the music! I’ll admit its a bit basic, but kinda what I was aiming for, it’s hard for me to make a cutesy song that’s also not basic as shi

I checked the game out after seeing chris post about it but forgot to leave a review, oops.
Really liked the mixed use for the combat skills. It felt like there was a bit much going on at first and it took a bit to get the hang of the mechanics, but I think I embraced the chaos now. Pretty fun. Not bad at all for a first entry.

Sjhillustration responds:

Thanks! The hope was that it would be a little chaotic. I had other ideas too but I didn't want to make it too complicated, so tried to keep it simple and balanced.

Probably figuring things out
